Casting announced for West End transfer of Nine Night

The West End transfer of ***[Nine Night](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/3237/nine-night-tickets.aspx)*** has just announced its cast. The debut play by **Natasha Gordon** enjoyed a sell-out run at the National Theatre earlier this year, earning universal critical acclaim. The show premieres at **[Trafalgar Studios](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/17/trafalgar-studios.aspx)** this December.

It has just been announced that **Natasha Gordon** will be starring in her own debut play, ***[Nine Night](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/3237/nine-night-tickets.aspx)***, for its West End premiere. The writer and actress will be taking on the role of Lorraine.
Starring alongside the ***[Nine Night](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/3237/nine-night-tickets.aspx)* **writer will be **Cecilia Noble** as Aunt Maggie, **Hattie Ladbury** as Sophie, **Michelle Greenidge** as Trudy, **Oliver Alvin-Wilson** as Robert and **Rebekah Murrell** as Anita, all of whom reprise their roles from the National Theatre production. The West End production will also see **Karl Collins** join the cast as Uncle Vince.
***[Nine Night](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/play/3237/nine-night-tickets.aspx)*** follows a family in mourning as they hold a family reunion for Nine Night (also known as Dead Yard), which is a Jamaican and Carribean funerary tradition that lasts for nine days, during which friends and family members gather at the home of the deceased. Once a calm tradition meant exclusively for mourning has now evolved into a celebration where attendees sing hymns, play music and enjoy a big feast, as they believe the deceased is no longer suffering and has moved on to a better place.
The play is directed by **Roy Alexander Weise,** who won a JMK Award for the critically acclaimed revival of Katori Hall's *The Mountaintop.*
