The Jamie Lloyd Company has announced that the Olivier Award-winning production Cyrano de Bergerac, by Edmond Rostand and freely adapted by Martin Crimp, will be returning to London for a limited run at the Harold Pinter Theatre. James McAvoy will reprise his role in the critically acclaimed play for 5-weeks in the West End, with performances beginning on 3 February 2022. Did you know that the late French poet Edmond Rostand, author of Cyrano de Bergerac, has a blood relative with the exact same name? Having prematurely passed away in 1918 at the age of 50, Rostand's lineage doesn't exactly stretch as far back as one might imagine of such an esteemed playwright in French literature. Now with Jamie Lloyd's new production of Cyrano de Bergerac starring James McAvoy set to open at the West End's Playhouse Theatre on 27 November 2019, we were fortunate enough to be put in touch with Edmond Rostand's great-nephew of the same name (who also goes by Eddie).
