Nicholas Dante et James Kirkwood Jr. » s A Chorus Line a été créé en 1975 à Broadway, rendant hommage aux artistes talentueux en coulisses qui passent l’audition pour réaliser leurs rêves. 

A Chorus Line emmène le public dans les coulisses d’une audition à Broadway. Il suit le parcours d’un groupe de danseurs en herbe qui auditionnent pour des rôles dans une chorale d’une nouvelle comédie musicale. Le spectacle est structuré comme un processus d’audition, les danseurs partageant leurs histoires personnelles, espoirs, rêves et vulnérabilités avec le metteur en scène et le chorégraphe.

Tout au long de la comédie musicale, les personnages révèlent leurs origines, leurs expériences et les raisons pour lesquelles ils ont choisi une vie théâtrale. Le public apprend à connaître chaque personnage intimement, de la confiante et impertinente Sheila au timide et introspectif Paul. Le personnage principal, Cassie, est une ancienne star de Broadway qui est revenue auditionner pour un rôle de chœur.

Gossip: Harry Hill musical I Can't Sing! to open next year

Hot on the heels of today's long-dragged-out confirmation of this year's X Factor UK judging panel comes the X Factor musical.   Tongue-in-cheek show I Can't Sing! has been written by comedian Harry Hill, who also co-wrote the show's lyrics with Steve Brown.   Brown has written the music for the production.   “We are thrilled to be bringing this all-singing, all-dancing, mickey-taking spectacular to the home of entertainment itself, the London Palladium” the two announced today.

Life imitates art as cast members for A Chorus Line are chosen from open auditions

In addition to the previously announced Scarlet Strallen, John Partridge, Leigh Zimmerman and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, new names have been revealed to make up the cast of the upcoming revival of A Chorus Line.     In a move that reflects the basic story of the show itself, auditions were set up to find additional cast members which resulted in Marc Leslie and Alice Jane Murray being chosen from 2000 hopefuls.

A Chorus Line to be revived at the London Palladium

For the first time since originally opening in London in 1976 and winning the Olivier Award for Best Musical, a full London revival of the Broadway Production of A Chorus Line will be staged at the London Palladium from February 2nd 2013, with a press night on Tuesday February 19th. The season will be strictly limited, running through until June 29th.
