Un jeu enivrant sur la futilité de la quête de vérité et de la survie dans le monde moderne. Voici Emma, une actrice en difficulté dont la vie tourne de façon imprudente. Elle passait le meilleur moment de sa vie, euphorique dans un bonheur éteint. Maintenant, elle est en cure de désintoxication, et sa nouvelle réalité est aussi douloureuse que sobre.
Cette pièce sombre et profondément émouvante suit une jeune femme qui entame son chemin vers la paix et la réhabilitation. Sa première étape est d’admettre qu’elle a un problème. Mais le problème ne vient pas des substances, c’est de la substance de sa vie. Elle doit dire la vérité à ceux qui pensent savoir ce qui est le mieux. Mais elle est assez intelligente pour savoir que ça n’existe pas.
Quand l’ivresse semble être la seule façon de survivre dans le monde moderne, comment pourrait-elle jamais se remettre à sobriété ?
Un tour de force théâtral qui évoque le monde vif et déstabilisant de l’ivresse et des mensonges. Emma doit décider si elle doit se battre pour sa guérison et pour les personnes, lieux et choses qu’elle y rencontrera, ou si elle doit s’échapper dans sa propre version de la réalité.

“Stylistic” is a word used to describe, seemingly, most shows at the moment. But is it necessarily a good thing? I love seeing shows with a unique style but, sometimes, “stylistic” comes across as little more than self-indulgent. I mean, how many shows use the “unique” idea of invasive, bright lighting, and abstract perspectives?

People, Places & Things, playing at the Wyndham's Theatre until the 4th June 2016, is a stylistic, flawlessly-performed production that exceeded my expectations. Whilst fairly intense, a well-balanced touch of humour stopped the show from being overbearing, creating an overall enjoyable piece of theatre.

I am aware some will look at this headline with confusion, maybe even repulsion but I can explain. Unreserved seating isn’t just about spoiling your pre-theatre bar time but about a fair ticketing system that allows friends to book separately and the over organised (or those with the sharpest elbows) to triumph. I look at the many pros, the occasional con that is unreserved seating.
